Being able to write this message and have someone other than me read it has been a dream of mine for many years. It almost feels surreal to be able to do this, and comes from the bottom of my heart =)

Here’s a little background about me, I’m a 90’s baby from Detroit, MI. I love a good meal and Fashion has been my first love since I was as young as I can remember. I was the child who learned to walk in heels and thought wearing an easter dress every day as a toddler was normal. I was the girl in high school who wore heels every day to sit in the cafeteria and later wore heels and blazers to walk on college campus. I later grew up to be the extra young woman at a mortgage company call center who came to work dressed up (I always got called into the office too, but thats a story for another day). I guess you can say I’ve been very Fashionable Expressive for a while now.

Growing up I took an interest in drawing and would come up with my own designs, I guess you could say I was very creative (Im a Pisces, you know we are a little quirky). Anyway, I wanted to become a Fashion Designer or have my own store but for a while, I tried to talk myself out of it and try what I thought was a more consistent line of work.

After deciding to take a temporary break from college, I landed a job in the mortgage industry that I worked for several years in downtown Detroit. After a long day of work and people getting on my nerves, I felt like I needed to treat myself. I began to go on adventures, explore the city and check out new places to eat with my friends or alone. Like a person of my generation, I’d post my experiences on my social media pages and would get feedback. Some of my friends and family convinced me to buckle down to give Food and Fashion (with Fabulousness) Blogging a shot and so here we are! (Well, that’s the short version)

I have been working on this on and off for years and as life begins to align, this made perfect sense and was perfect timing.

If you love to eat, love a good outfit and love to laugh, I think you’ll like it over here.

If you do, I’ve come up with a name for us, you would be a Fabunista! Because, why not? It makes sense.
