The L Mocktail

I have a story to tell.

So last night I was up on one of my night owl kicks. I was talking on the phone to one of my friends and decided to whip up a small snack and a mocktail at 3 am. (My friend works nights so when I’m in my mode, I’ll call her to catch up)

I didn’t want much. Just wanted to have a little treat before bed.

I decided to make stuffed mushrooms and a strawberry kiwi lemonade.

So why is it called The L Mocktail?

Well, a few reasons….

I’m at a point in life where I REALLY have had to step out my comfort zone. That can get scary but I do always find joy and fun in learning new things, so I really try to embrace new things and instead of being so hard on myself just find joy in making some mistakes in order to be better. It’s no such thing as a loss if you learn. And you know you are growing when you are learning. So starting a business and making drinks is no different.

I bought a rose mold for ice and wanted to try some new stuff. I tried a few different ways to mold the ice. In this mocktail I decided to use strawberry puree and then poured lemonade on top. I knew the puree would be heavier so I thought it might give it an ombré look.

And uh…well it didn’t mold exactly how I wanted. So it was the perfect ice cube to use and a lesson.

Plus it’s really just a pretty lemonade.

Lesson and Lemonade both start with L. So there you go. 💗😂🤷‍♀️

The ice cube is strawberry lemonade and the liquid is a kiwi-passion fruit blend lemonade.

I did a dry shake of a drizzle of Kiwi Puree, a splash of passion fruit juice and lemonade.

I do like my drinks sweet. So you can shake it with ice to dilute or add 2 oz of a spirit you like to really get the party going.

Stuffed Mushrooms

Not sure if you guys want the recipe but the stuffed mushrooms were delicious so, if you want to try it here it is. I really just freestyled them (like I did the drink) so cook to your taste.

I used 4 smedium Baby Bella Mushrooms and gutted them

Then in a small bowl I added

Softened Cream cheese

Half a Jalapeño (chopped)

Bacon bits

Italian cheese blend

Salt, Pepper, Kinders Garlic and Herb, Parsley

Then ofcourse stuff the mushrooms.

I then cooked some shrimp and that was seasoned with the same as the cream cheese but added chipotle seasoning because I wanted the shrimp to have a little kick.

I pan fried them and set the aside.

I put my mushrooms on the stove top and cooked until I saw the top was brown and once they were done, I put the shrimp on top.

I sat and enjoyed my drink and appetizer, turned on some Usher (The new album) not realizing it was 3 am. 😂 I don’t think it was that loud??? But let me know if you tried the recipe and what ya think?
